Together, we can inspire a lifelong connection between learning and the arts. At your school and here at The Wells Theatre we can help you design an arts experience that will build a bridge to your core curriculum.
In-School Field Trips
We bring the set, the professional cast and the fun to you! This year we are touring X-Out Bullying (K-5) and Meet Mark Twain (Middle and High School). All of our production meet SOL-requirements and study guides are available online.
Shakespeare Out of the Canon
In a world of texting and emojis, Shakespeare Out of the Canon is a language and arts initiative designed to expand word usage and communication. Student will be immersed in a world of creativity and words as they relate to Shakespeare, a man that made up his own lingo. We can place a Teaching Artists in your school for a short or long term residency. Current residencies include Norfolk Academy and Park Place School.
Student Matinees at the Wells
Bring your class to the Wells and experience first hand how live theater can enrich lives through education. Our Season 36 student matinees include A Christmas Carol and The Taming of the Shrew. SOL-based teacher activity guides are available for each production. There are also actor talkbacks after select shows which offer expanded leaning opportunities.
Additional options include Theatre Tours, Meet and Greets with the Actors, Actor Workshops and more!
