Marketing

Communications Intern

The Marketing Department of the Virginia Stage Company seeks an energetic Intern to assist with special projects and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the marketing, administration and ticketing aspects of theatre. The Communication Intern’s time will be divided between assisting the marketing director and the box office and should have an interest in customer service. Responsibilities will include helping with administrative projects, assisting with mailings, assisting with graphics, assisting daily box office/marketing needs, photography of special events, responding to ticket inquiries, performing internet research, and helping with other projects as needed.

This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in marketing, public relations and the performing arts.

Familiarity with MS Office is necessary for this position. In addition, candidates must be Internet savvy, have good clerical skills, and excellent attention to detail. This is a full-time paid internship with no benefits provided. Hours are variable and will include some evenings and weekends.

Sales

Outbound Sales Associates (Part-time)

Virginia Stage Company seeks Outbound Sales Associates who are professional, enthusiastic, organized, and have the ability to perform well under pressure. Candidates should be able to convey information about our season and programs to prospective and existing patrons, and understand the importance of the sales and fundraising efforts to ensure a healthy future for the institution. Customer service sensitivity and love-of-theater are critical aspects of the job as well. Permanent part-time work (16 hours) requires a four evening per week commitment.  Excellent commission and salary.  Strong telephone skills are necessary.  All interested parties should send a cover letter and resume to Director of Marketing, P.O.
