Volunteers are a vital part of Virginia Stage Company, southeastern Virginia's only fully professional resident theater company. The Virginia Stage Associates provides volunteer support to Virginia Stage Company in many ways. There are creative outlets for everyone who enjoys live theater. A few examples:
- We have a fun, informal potluck meal for the actors of each play to welcome them to Hampton Roads.
- We prepare matinee meals between Saturday performances to serve the cast and crew.
- We have regular Associates parties held at the beautiful Wells Theatre. At the parties we often are privileged to see the sets under construction, gaining fascinating staging information.
- We usher for performances, mingle with other theater-lovers and see the show!
The Associates share a commitment with the staff, artists and Virginia Stage Company Board of Trustees to provide the best in professional theater. We are not actors, but through our volunteer support we help create the special things that happen at VSC.

- Assist with a variety of projects designed to raise funds for Virginia Stage Company
Community Events:
- Raise public awareness of Virginia Stage Company through arts shows and other events
- Attend membership parties
